Catholic Charities DEAP has resumed funding supplemental heating assistance applications for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and each week (barring anything unforeseen), will continue to fund all complete applications submitted through Friday, March 29.

On Monday, 1/13/2020, Catholic Charities DEAP funded 2,550 additional completed and certified LIHEAP heating assistance applications. Those families should receive their LIHEAP notices within a week or so. Yesterday, our DEAP fuel vendors started receiving their notification lists from this latest funding.

To date, 8,313 Delaware families received heating assistance for the LIHEAP 2020 program year, and we encourage all income eligible Delawareans to apply for this supplemental heating program. LIHEAP eligibility opens the door for other LIHEAP benefits, like energy crisis, summer cooling electric and weatherization services, when appropriate and if funds are available.

If you need help or know any Delawareans, who might need a little help heating their homes, please encourage folks to schedule a LIHEAP application appointment at one of the following DEAP offices:

New Castle County: 302-654-9295
Kent County: 302-674-1782
Sussex County: 302-856-6310
