ASIST is a 2-day, intensive suicide intervention skills-training workshop aimed at those who want to feel more comfortable, confident and competent in helping to prevent the immediate risk of suicide. ASIST provides practical training and is suitable for anyone in a caring role or working with vulnerable people, from teenagers upwards. ASIST is the Army-approved intervention training for Suicide Intervention Officers (SIOs) and
Gatekeepers (personnel most likely to come in contact with suicidal persons).
The 2-day Workshops are Wed-Thu, 0830-1630 hours. You must attend BOTH days.
Jan 9-10: Smyrna Readiness Center
Mar6-7: Georgetown Readiness Center.
Pre-registration is required to attend.
For DEARNG Soldiers only: Open to AGR & M-Day personnel. Command chain approval is required to enroll. Funding available through J9. Priority is given to unit’s Suicide Intervention Officers (SIO), so they meet training
