ASIST is a 2-day, intensive suicide intervention skills-training workshop aimed at those who want to feel more comfortable, confident and competent in helping to prevent the immediate risk of suicide.
Classes are open to the community. ASIST provides practical training and is suitable for anyone in a caring role or working with vulnerable people, from teenagers upwards.
This training is aimed at:
- Suicide Intervention Officers (SIOs) and Gatekeepers
- Medical/dental health professionals; counsellors and therapists
- Emergency service workers; chaplains and chaplain assistants
- Anyone who cares about helping a suicidal person
The 2-day Workshops are 0830-1630 hrs. You must attend BOTH days.

SUSSEX COUNTY: WED-THU, AUG 8-9, 2018, 0800-1630 hours, Georgetown Readiness Center
Pre-registration is required to attend.
For DEARNG Soldiers only: Open to AGR & M-Day personnel. Command chain approval is required to enroll. Funding available through J9. Priority is given to unit’s Suicide Intervention Officers (SIO), so they meet training
requirements under their DAO.
